Dillman's Creative Arts Workshops - This is the 36th year of bringing nationally known art instructors and special interest programs to the beautiful Northwood's. Woodland Indian Art Center -The Art Center and Gallery offers classes, workshops, demonstrations, and a full range of Native artistic programming. Classes in beading and moccasin making, fish decoy carving, birch bark basket making, and more are offered year round. All levels of classes are available. If your group has a special interest in Native art we will customize classes with qualified instructors to meet your requirements.

St. Anthony's Salad Luncheon- The Women's Club of St. Anthony's Church will be holding their 52nd Annual Spring Luncheon on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at 12:00 noon at the Parish Hall, Hwy 47(old Abe Road) Lac du Flambeau.  Cost is $10.00.  Tickets are available at the door day of event or by calling 715-588-2001.  A variety of salads will be served.  There will be door, raffle and table prizes.

FREE FUN WEEKEND - For two days in June, Wisconsin residents and visitors alike can enjoy some of the country's best outdoor recreation for free.

On June 7-8, people can fish for free anywhere in Wisconsin, hike or bike state trails for free, ride public ATV trails for free, and, new this year, enjoy free admission to state parks and forests on both days as well.

"Free Fun weekend is a great way for friends and families to enjoy the great outdoor throughout Wisconsin," says Preston Cole, Natural Resources Board chairman. Appreciation Night Honoring Al Bauman - Join the Northwoods community members in honoring long time Lac du Flambeau resident Al Bauman at Lake of the Torches Resort Casino Convention Center.  This event will include a cash bar at 6pm and a buffet dinner at 7pm.  The cost to attend is $19.00.  Several longtime associates of Al Bauman will reflect on his decades of service to the Northwoods community as part of the event.

32nd Annual - Bear River Pow Wow-July 11-13 Held in the Old Indian Village on the Bear River Pow Wow grounds. This annual event brings tribes from across the nation to celebrate together. Where:  Woodland Indian Art Center located in downtown Lac du Flambeau in the Adaawe Mall at 562 Peace Pipe Road near the LDF Smoke Shop.

Admission:  FREE

Why:  Kelly Jackson is a member of the Lake du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, and was awarded the Native American Music Award for Best Folk/Americana Recording for her debut album “Spirit of a Woman” in 2013. She was also listed in BRAVA magazine as one of their chosen “women to watch in 2014.” Kelly is currently finishing up her second album titled “Renditions of the Soul”, and has opened up for the internationally acclaimed musical duo the Indigo Girls! Kelly will be joining us at the Woodland Indian Art Center to do a lunch time performance. Take a look around the store to see our many arts and crafts available for purchase, and enjoy the delightful sounds of Kelly Jackson and her guitar during your lunch break.
